The public is advised that the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) has conferred the title of UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN, with effect from February 23 2006, on the institution formerly known as Caribbean Union College and located at Maracas Royal Road, St. Joseph.
Act No. 16 of 2004 defines a university as: “a tertiary institution that offers programmes leading to awards at the baccalaureate (bachelor’s) or post-baccalaureate levels and is characterized as well be a commitment to research that maintains, advances, disseminates and assists the application of knowledge”.
